Common questions

Short answers about File Only scope, pricing, and how we work. Prefer email? Reach us at hello@concord.tax.

What is File Only?

File Only is remote tax return preparation with a fixed scope. You upload documents; we prepare the return; you review and authorize e-file. Returns are reviewed and signed by a licensed CPA.

How is the final File Only price set?

Within the published range ($275 – $650), based on forms and complexity after we see your documents. You get a firm quote before work begins.

What’s the difference between File Only and File + Notes?

File + Notes includes everything in File Only plus a short written summary of key items, estimated payment guidance when applicable, and next-year planning bullets—without a live consult.

When should I book a consult instead?

Choose a 30-minute ($250) or 60-minute ($400) consult for entity questions, multi-issue planning, open IRS notices, or situations outside File Only scope. Consults can stand alone or precede a filing engagement.

Seasonality: Paid consults are offered May through January (and after April 15). They are not available during spring filing season (roughly February 1 through mid-April). During busy season, use File Only or File + Notes, or wait until consults reopen.

Are consults available year-round?

No. Consults are off-season only—May through January, and anytime after April 15. Spring filing season (February through mid-April) is reserved for return preparation. File Only and File + Notes stay available year-round.

Do you only work with Tennessee filers?

No. We are not limited to a particular state. Our focus is federal return preparation; we file state returns when they are required. Tennessee has no personal income tax, so many Tennessee residents are federal-only unless they have income that must be reported to another state. Complex multi-state work may require a consult first.

How do I send documents?

After eligibility and quote, you’ll receive a secure upload link. Please don’t email Social Security numbers or full tax returns to an unencrypted inbox.

Is this site collecting my data right now?

The Get started flow is a front-end demo. Answers are saved only in your browser’s localStorage. A production intake would use a secure backend and written privacy terms—see our Privacy draft.

Who reviews and signs the return?

Prepared returns are reviewed and signed by a licensed CPA. We don’t publish individual bios on this site; engagement letters identify the signing professional.
